Adoption Agreement

Conditions of adoption:

Breeder guarantees that the previously described dog is of purebred dachshund parents. AKC/CKC & AKC/SA reg. & DNA tested. Breeder guarantees that this dog is in good health at the time of purchase and that immunizations are up to date.

Breeder allows 48 hrs to have Puppy inspected by a separate veterinarian other then Dachshunds by Choice, Dr. William Wheeler/Dr. Reed at Buttons Veterinary Clinic, for a replacement Pup of the next breeding same sex. Purchaser agrees to notify the breeder as soon as possible if the dog requires medical care other than routine vaccinations, and checkups, any all problems must be reviewed by breeder’s veterinarian and deemed necessary 

before any replacements can be given. (Pet hounds will not be replaced for bite, over size, or small physical imperfections) We try for perfection but only can do so much even with careful breeding.  

Breeder guarantees a minimum life of at least 3 (three) years unless the death is caused by a preventable cause or if the purchaser did not follow the diet and/or care instructions of the breeder. Preventable causes include but not limited to, Accident (example.. motor vehicle accidents, dropping or stepping on the dog), Poisoning (deliberate or accidental), Attack by an animal or person, lack of recommended or preventative care, Improper feeding (obesity puts added stress on the back, heart, and other organs/muscles of the dog). If the dog dies before 1 (one) year of age from a non-preventable cause, the breeder will credit the buyer with a prorated discount on the purchase of a subsequent dog. Signed proof from a licensed veterinarian, stating cause of death required by breeder, to facilitate prorated discount.

Breeder is not responsible for any accident, death or loss during shipment. Purchaser assumes full responsibility of said animal when it leaves the breeders possession.

Breeder agrees to take said dog back at any time if the purchaser is no longer willing/able to care for it and try and find a suitable home. Purchaser agrees not to give/sell this animal to any party without first giving the breeder first right of refusal.

Purchaser agrees that in case of discrepancies the breeder’s decision shall be final and binding. Any returned animal that is in the possession of the breeder for more than 4 months or if expenses exceed previously determined value of the animal automatically becomes property of the breeder again with no exceptions.

(If/when animal is returned to breeder, breeder may buy dog and all rights back at time of return, if breeder so chooses. 

Purchaser has 48 hrs to return the hound for full refund, minus the $250.00 non-refundable deposits no questions asked.)

Purchaser agrees to maintain said dog at all times in good health with at least annual veterinary checkups and recommended vaccinations and to provide quality nutrition, shelter, and medical care. Buyer also agrees to ensure the physical and emotional well being of the dog at all times.

Purchaser agrees to never to tie the dog to any fixed object while unsupervised. Dachshunds are not outside dogs, they are to be inside at night, cold/hot weather, other than exercise, play time and when supervised daytime fenced in yard times. They love to be outside but not ones for night time or dog house type living. Our dogs are never to be debarked.

Purchaser agrees that said dog should never be used for experimental or research purpose.

Purchaser agrees to notify the breeder as soon as possible if the dog requires medical care other than routine vaccinations, and checkups.

Purchaser assumes full responsibility for the health, temperament, and appearance of said animal when the animal leaves the breeders possession.

Purchaser agrees that at no time, for any reason will the breeder be responsible for any veterinary bills. No discounts rebates to be given after you take possession unless stated above already.

Purchaser agrees that they are responsible for the actions and upbringing of said dog and at no time will the breeder be held responsible for the dog or its behavior.

Purchaser agrees to NEVER under any circumstances give this dog to a rescue group, animal shelter, or humane society.

Purchaser agrees this dog is sold as a pet and not for breeding purposes that the dog shall not be bred.   Dog is to be spayed/neutered at proper age and proof of surgery provided to breeder.

Dachshunds by Choice Pups are never to be overweight by more than 3 percent for your contract to be valid. To do so will VOID the grantee of this contract! 

It is further understood that any circumstances/situations/disputes arising which are not covered in this agreement shall be remedied at the discretion of the breeder and that the breeders decision shall be final and binding.

All pups will have their first shots and wormed before leaving our home and prefer them to be 9 to 12 weeks of age If shipping, must be at least 10 weeks of age, depending on puppy.
